The parties will jointly develop a large-scale 430-hectare urban development project in Hanoi.

This marks Hong Kong Whampoa’s first major urban planning project in Vietnam, representing a substantial breakthrough in the company’s strategy to expand overseas and laying a solid foundation for further penetration into the urban planning and design markets in Southeast Asia and beyond.

As a highly influential Vietnamese enterprise, GELEXIMCO has deep expertise in real estate development, industrial manufacturing, energy, and other sectors. It has implemented numerous large-scale urban complexes and industrial parks in key cities such as Hanoi, boasting strong local resource integration capabilities and proven project execution experience. It is a key player in Vietnam’s urbanization process. The 430-hectare Hanoi project is a priority urban development initiative in the region, encompassing urban planning, infrastructure construction, and multiple other aspects, and holds significant importance for enhancing regional urban functions and advancing local urbanization.

The achievement of this cooperation is not only a major milestone on Hong Kong Whampoa’s path to “going global” but also a valuable exploration of collaboration between China and Vietnam in architectural design and urban development. By leveraging the professional strengths and resource advantages of both parties, the successful advancement of this project will accumulate valuable experience for bilateral cooperation in urban construction, while further refining Hong Kong Whampoa’s overseas market layout, accelerating the building of an international architectural design brand, and contributing Chinese design expertise to urban development in Southeast Asia and the world.

Chairman Zhou Rui Leads Delegation to Study Chongqing’s Fourth-Generation Housing Plan

From July 26-27, 2025, a 20-member delegation led by Chairman Zhou Rui, General Manager Max Yang, and the company’s architectural designers traveled to Chongqing to study and exchange experiences on the development and design of fourth-generation housing. Fourth-generation housing, also known as courtyard houses, stereoscopic garden ecological housing, or urban forest garden architecture, integrates green ecological concepts with modern high-rise buildings. Through technologies such as sky gardens and vertical greening, it achieves high-quality, upgraded living environments.

Key features include optimized floor area ratio calculations (e.g., utility spaces like electrical rooms are excluded from the ratio), enabling some projects to achieve or exceed a 100% usable space ratio, and the incorporation of stereoscopic greening systems, with each unit featuring a terrace and every two floors equipped with a shared sky platform for communal use.

During the visit, the delegation toured six fourth-generation housing projects in Chongqing developed by companies including Longfor Properties, China Merchants Property, Hong Kong Land, Baoyi Property, and China Jinmao. Since 2024, multiple Chongqing developers have actively explored such products, integrating green concepts into high-rise residential designs to offer buyers enhanced interaction and innovative living experiences.

Additionally, the delegation engaged with design leaders from Zhongtai Design and Haicheng Group, sharing insights on Innovative Breakthroughs and Technical Implementation of Fourth-Generation Housing and Key Technical Points and Case Studies of Fourth-Generation Stereoscopic Greening Housing. These discussions deepened bilateral cooperation. The trip yielded significant outcomes, injecting innovative inspiration into the company’s future projects.
